All-School Event


Westchester will celebrate Spirit Week Oct. 10-14 and end the week with the annual Blue-White Spirit Day festivities on Friday.

Wildcat families are invited to campus for fun, games, crafts and food from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Then, plan to stay for an evening of athletic events, a Legacy Picnic for families of Westchester alumni who have current students, and Senior Night for fall athletes.

This event takes many parent, faculty and staff volunteers to be a great success. Thank you to WAPA for helping coordinate the festivities!

Spirit Week

Everyone is invited to dress up for the following spirit days:

  • Monday, 10/10 - Pajama Day
  • Tuesday, 10/11 - Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher/Coach
  • Wednesday, 10/12 - Wacky Wednesday
  • Thursday, 10/13 - Tropical Thursday
  • Friday, 10/14 - Blue-White Day

Blue-White Day Festival

Friday, Oct. 14
1:30-3:30 p.m.
Finch parking lot and Hathaway Field behind Finch Center

The festival activities are open to all families. Lower School and Middle School students must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities included: Inflatable slides, rock climbing wall, live music, cornhole, activity booths hosted by Upper School clubs, dunking booth featuring some of your WCDS favorite faculty and staff, face painting, tie-dye station, school store kiosk, concessions, Kona Ice Truck, selfie station, cake walk, and much MUCH more!

Note: Activities are subject to change. Event is weather permitting.

Prices: Admission is free. Some activities will have an additional cost (tie-dye $10, dunking booth $1, cake walk $1, Booster concessions and Kona Ice - selling food and drinks).

Wildcats shirtA tie-dye station will be offered during the festival. The t-shirts are $10 each and are available while supplies last. Pre-order shirts now and then pick up your shirt and join the tie-dye fun at the event.

Lower School Dismissal on Blue-White Day

If you plan to park and pick up your child at 1:30 dismissal to enjoy the Blue-White Day festivities, please meet your child and teacher at the following locations:

  • Pre-K - Playground fence
  • Kindergarten - Back door of Smith Hall at the Kindergarten suite
  • 1st & 2nd Grade - Playground bumpers by Smith Hall
  • 3rd & 4th Grade - Brick courtyard between Smith and Phillips Hall
  • 5th Grade - Brick Wall by Lower School Carpool Circle (where 5th grade normally sits during carpool)

If your child is attending After-School, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. students will play on the playground. From 2:30-3:30 p.m., Ms. Elliott and the After-School staff will take the students around to the Blue-White festival.

Please email your child’s teacher by Friday morning if you plan to pick up for Blue-White Day festivities.  Also, please let your child’s teacher know if someone other than a parent is picking up your child (grandparent, friend, babysitter, etc.). If we do not hear from you, your child will be sent home via his/her normal afternoon transportation plan.
