• Advertising and Marketing Partners: We may share customer data with third parties to perform services on our behalf and optimize our advertising efforts.

• Legal and Compliance: If required by law or necessary to protect our rights, we may disclose personal data to legal authorities.

Email Privacy

WCDS publishes the email addresses of its faculty and staff on the public website and of WCDS parents/guardians within password-protected portals. This access is provided to enhance communications for school purposes. Use of this information for any other purposes, including but not limited to fundraising, commercial or political mailings, and/or distribution to any outside party is prohibited. If you have any questions about this aspect of our policy, please contact WCDS.

Student Privacy

WCDS is committed to protecting the privacy of our students. Photos and media featuring students may be used on our website, social media platforms, news, and/or marketing materials only with parent/guardian consent. Student full names may be published on team rosters, cast lists, or other group recognitions on the website and may or may not appear with a photo including the student.

Parents/guardians are given the option to consent to media release, which includes the capture and use of photography on our website and marketing materials, during enrollment annually and may request to change their consent at any time by notifying the school in writing. While we take precautions to limit unauthorized access to student media, we cannot completely eliminate the risk. Parents should consider the potential risk of student images being shared on the internet, including digital manipulation to create deep fake content. Please report any suspected misuse of student images by contacting the school immediately.

Data Security

We follow generally accepted standards to protect your personal information, both during transmission and once it is received. This includes SSL encryption of personal information submitted via online forms. Servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment. Under no circumstances are credit card numbers permanently stored on our website servers.

While we implement reasonable security measures to protect personal information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute data security of our databases or the databases of third parties with which we may share information, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the internet.

Your Privacy Choices

• Opt out of marketing emails by following the Subscription Settings link in our messages to unsubscribe or by contacting communications@westchestercds.org. Parents/guardians and employees will still receive routine school communications if they opt out of receiving some types of emails.

• Manage your ad preferences through Google and Meta settings.

• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting registrar@westchestercds.org. We may seek to verify your identity to ensure the security of your personal information. If you are requesting that we no longer use your information to provide service, please note that we may still retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 

Safeguarding Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA"), we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 without valid consent of a parent or guardian. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected or otherwise received such information without parental consent, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.
