Moral Excellence Lower School

Westchester Country Day School’s character word for the month of October is GRIT -- refusing to give up when life gets hard. The character word is emphasized by the animal mustang and the color terra cotta.

Students will be learning what it means to have GRIT during Community Meetings and classroom guidance lessons throughout the month. Parents can read the newsletter linked below or listen to the Core Essential Values podcast to learn more on how to support students in developing GRIT at home.

Westchester follows the Core Essential Values character education program, which helps teach students to treat others right, make smart decisions, and maximize their potential through a focus on a monthly character trait. This is a part of the school’s mission to support students in pursuing moral excellence.
