Lower School Moral Excellence

Westchester Country Day School’s character word for the month of December is JOY -- finding a way to be happy even when things don't go your way. The character word is emphasized by the color periwinkle and the animal ladybug.

Students will be learning what it means to have JOY during Community Meetings and classroom guidance lessons throughout the month. Parents can read the newsletter linked below or listen to the Core Essential Values podcast to learn more about how to support students in developing JOY at home.

Westchester follows the Core Essential Values character education program, which helps teach students to treat others right, make smart decisions, and maximize their potential through a focus on a monthly character trait. This is a part of the school’s mission to support students in pursuing moral excellence.
