Westchester Country Day School invites the community to enjoy its fall K-12 musical production of “Frozen JR.” Four performances will be offered: 7 p.m. on November 8, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on November 8, and 2 p.m. on November 10. All shows will be performed in Rives Hall on the WCDS campus at 2045 N. Old Greensboro Road, High Point.

Performances are open to the public. Tickets are $5 each.

The spectacular 60-minute program is designed for young performers and is based on the 2013 Disney film and 2018 Broadway adaptation. The cast includes almost 100 students K-12.

The set and costumes are designed and created by Westchester students, faculty, parents, and volunteers. The Upper School Play Production class is also providing set construction, lighting and sound.

“Each year I wrestle with which musical will do justice for our seniors – this year, two amazing females – while providing open casting in a variety of roles for kindergarten through 12th grade students,” said teacher Debby Noyes, who is directing the show. “Disney's ‘Frozen JR.’ came to me through an MTI email last spring as a new licensing opportunity. After checking the cast list, I knew immediately that this was the one! With several leading roles, including duel female leads, it was just what we needed to showcase the many talents of our K-12 performers.”

“Frozen JR.” is a fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the top-grossing animated film of all time. Anna, Elsa and other favorite characters embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. The show includes familiar songs such as “Love is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go.”

Westchester’s “Frozen JR.” cast is led by seniors Emily Ann Wright, who plays Anna, and Dynasty Rui, who plays Elsa. Main characters also include ninth grader Emma Engle as Sven, 10th grader Alex Hicks as Kristoff, 10th grader Meredith Harron as Olaf, 11th grader Aiden Apple as Hans and 11th grader Ryan Lim as Weselton.
