During the month of November, Lower School students learned about the character trait honor, letting someone know you see how valuable they really are. Students began practicing honor at the Lower School's monthly community meeting on Friday, Nov. 1, when they recognized Facilities Manager Marsena Davis for his initiative in greeting students as they enter the building for the start of school each morning.

“What you may not know is that nobody asked Mr. Davis to do this,” Blair Hawley, Head of Lower School, explained to the assembly of students. “He just saw that it would make a positive impact to students, and he provided a little extra encouragement to those who needed it. And, he decided on his own to do it. So, today, Mr. Davis, we would like to honor you -- to show you how valuable you are to our community.”

The students surprised Mr. Davis with a banner they had all signed and gave him a huge round of applause.

This November character trait of honor is emphasized with the animal rhinoceros and the color gold. Follow the link below for more information on how you can support your child showing honor at home.
