Westchester Country Day School is offering a winter driver's education session in partnership with Triad Driving School.

Registration is open to current WCDS students and high school students from the Triad area.

The five-day session will be held Monday, Dec. 18 - Friday, Dec. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. The first two days (Monday and Tuesday) will be held in the Wilson Center on the WCDS campus at 2045 N. Old Greensboro Road, High Point. The remaining three days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) will be online learning days and students will meet with the instructor virtually from their homes.

There will be a brief parent meeting on the first day at 8:30 a.m. to go over details and answer questions. Students should bring a snack, lunch, paper and pencil to class. Attendance is mandatory each day.

Registration is for the classroom portion of the course and is $100 per student. Students should turn 14 1/2 by December 18, 2023 (birth date should be on or before June 18, 2009) to participate. Students who have a late June or July birthday may be able to attend if space is available.

The behind-the-wheel portion of driver training is separate and is not coordinated by WCDS. Students will be able to schedule driving individually with the Triad Driving School class instructor for an additional fee or also contact their assigned public high school to inquire about behind-the-wheel driving.
