Extended Day
At Westchester Country Day School, we pride ourselves on the community and family-like feel of our school, and that extends seamlessly into our extended day program including Before Care, After Care and After School programming.
Our Extended Day program provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students in grades PK–8 before and after school hours. Designed to support our families, the program combines supervised homework time with enriching activities, such as arts, STEM projects, outdoor play, and snack. Students enjoy opportunities to explore new interests, develop friendships across grade levels, and continue their day in a relaxed, supportive setting—all while remaining on our campus and cared for by trusted school staff.

Before-School Care
Our Before-School Care program provides a safe and welcoming space for PK–8 students to arrive early and begin their day with ease from 7–7:45 a.m.

After-School Care
Our After-School Care program for grades PK–8 offers more than just supervision. It’s a time for students to explore and grow in a supportive environment.

Study Zone
Study Zone offers a calm, supervised setting where students in grades 3–8 can focus on completing homework and other academic tasks.
Lower School After-School Electives
Additional after-school electives and clubs are offered to Lower School students throughout the year. These may include activities such as Odyssey of the Mind, robotics, art and GOFAR running club (some programs require an additional registration fee). In the arts, Lower School students may participate in Footnotes, an after-school choir for grades 3-5, or the fall or spring musical productions, for which rehearsals are held after school. Information on how to sign up is included in the school’s weekly emails.
Middle School After-School Options
Middle School students are encouraged to participate in our athletic program with practices that last until 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday for a variety of sports offered in three seasons. Students are also encouraged to participate in theatre productions or the WCDS School of Music. Once practices end, if students need to remain on campus, they go to the Study Zone (3:00-3:45 p.m.) or the After-School Care program (after 3:45 p.m.).
