About the Blue & White Gala

Since 1989, Westchester Country Day School's annual auction, The Blue & White Gala, has raised funds in support of moral, academic, artistic and athletic excellence. One of the school's only fundraisers for the year, the gala is a well-loved and anticipated tradition that gathers parents, teachers, alumni and friends together in celebration of the Wildcat community.

The gala has been hosted in a variety of locations, both on campus and in the community. Each year, hundreds of attendees join in from Lexington, Asheboro, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point, in addition to guests from all over the country.

Sponsors, item donors, and attendees all show their collective appreciation and support for Westchester and the high-quality independent school experience it provides to children. Proceeds from the event have a direct impact on Westchester’s students and faculty. The money raised each year goes to support classroom enhancements, technology, professional development, and much more.

The gala includes dinner, silent and live auctions, a paddle raise for Chuck’s Fund, and live music and dancing. All proceeds support Westchester's mission and programs.

Sponsorships

The Blue & White Gala would not be possible without the support of event sponsors. Businesses and families that sponsor the annual gala auction make a positive difference for WCDS students, faculty and families. Gala sponsors receive VIP seating, complimentary 50/50 raffle tickets, featured recognition on gala materials and school social media shoutouts. Not to mention, a portion of each sponsorship is tax-deductible.

Sponsorship levels and benefits are provided in the PDF below, as well as a link to submit an online sponsorship payment or pledge. Thank you for your consideration!

If you cannot attend, you are still welcome to bid on items in our online silent auction, which will open on Friday, Dec. 8, and close during the live event on Saturday, Dec. 9. There is also a 50/50 raffle, in which the winner takes home half of the raffle proceeds. The drawing takes place during the live event, but you need not be present to win. Event tickets, raffle tickets and silent auction items will all be available through the school's BidPal auction site.

Q: What is the attire for the evening?
A: The promoted attire is Black Tie Optional. It will be an elegant evening. Plan for a mix of cocktail, semi-formal and formal wear, and let your personal style shine through.

Paddle Raise for Chuck's Fund

Chuck’s Fund is named in honor of Chuck Hamblet, beloved Head of School from 2006 to 2009, who initially established a Head's Discretionary Fund at Auction. Gifts to Chuck's Fund create a resource for the head of school to use at his or her discretion to address needs for which there is no budgeted funding. These funds enhance the academic, artistic, and athletic programs at WCDS. In past years, Chuck's Fund has helped provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, as well new sound systems, a new fume hood for the biology classroom, a college and life skill workshop series for Upper School students, and many additional non-budgeted needs.

This fund allows the head of school to say "yes" when the faculty and staff come with requests during the school year over and beyond that of which they were able to budget. It is a critical resource from which our faculty and students benefit directly!

During the live auction event, there will be a paddle raise specifically for Chuck's Fund.
