Grandparents & Special Friends Day

Grandparents & Special Friends Day is a schoolwide event that gives our Wildcat students a chance to show their grandparents or other special caregiver in their life what it is like to be a Westchester student.

Check-in will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Finch Center. At 9:30 a.m., there will be a short welcome program which will include a performance from the Lower School (PK-5) students. Once the program ends, students and their grandparents/special friends will come together and partake in various fun activities on campus. This includes classroom visits, enjoying a snack in the Wilson Center, playground time, and shopping at the book fair! This day is an early dismissal day with the school day ending at 11:30 a.m. Students may sign out to leave with their grandparent or special friend at dismissal with parent approval.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day is a schoolwide event, meaning grandparents/special friends are more than welcome to visit with students in grades PK-12. Middle School (6-8) and Upper School (9-12) visits will be a different experience than the Lower School (PK-12) visit, but there will be more information sent out about this closer to the day.

If you are visiting multiple students, you are more than welcome to float between the different activities throughout your visit. There will be a schedule sent to you closer Grandparents & Special Friends Day and there will be several volunteers that will be able to direct you to where your other students are. We do ask that you do not take a student from their class to join another student's class.

Yes! There will be accessible parking spaces along with several golf carts to ensure that all of our guests can enjoy this day. We ask that when filling out your RSVP form you indicate if you need an accessible parking spot and/or will need golf cart assistance.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day ends at 11:30 a.m. Grandparents/special friends are able to sign out their students at the end of the day if you have coordinated that with their parents. When filling out your RSVP form, please indicate if you plan to sign out your students. Students' parents can also inform their classroom teachers of dismissal plans for that day.
