Athletics
Westchester Athletics strives to exemplify the mission of the school through building community, supporting scholar athletes and pursuing athletic excellence. Our Latin motto, Mens Sana in Corpore Sano, “A sound mind in a sound body,” guides our conviction that athletics is a vital part of the holistic education we offer.
While winning is always a goal, we measure our true success in terms of developing areas of personal growth in our student athletes. Our coaches are educators who believe every student can achieve success in and out of the classroom, and we strongly encourage participation in athletics. Physical, intellectual, and social skill building are all part of the process of preparing our students for future challenges.
Sportsmanship, respect for others, loyalty, commitment, teamwork, and a strong individual work ethic are values held high, and relied upon as a foundation for an education within our athletic program. Our teams are highly competitive, yet what we value most is sportsmanship and respect.
