When you love to learn, anything is possible.

Westchester Country Day School develops in children an enthusiasm for learning that leads to elevated academic performance and the achievement of their full potential. Since our founding in 1967, we have offered an excellent academic program that combines challenging coursework with a supportive environment in which to learn.

Academics at Westchester is about more than what students will know when they graduate. It is about providing the tools they will need for future academic success and the inspiration to continue a lifelong love and enjoyment of learning. We believe that children deserve a classroom environment in which they feel eager to engage and contribute. When students view learning as a joyful process, they will grow and blossom.

Westchester teachers are more than instructors; they are role models whose love of learning is contagious and evident in all they do. Students learn to think for themselves, not merely memorizing facts and statistics, but also developing skills and habits that will lead to future success. They go out into the world prepared with the knowledge, ability, and perseverance to meet life's challenges head-on.

An Intentional, College-Preparatory Academic Program

Westchester Country Day School offers a rigorous, college-preparatory academic program for students in Pre-K through grade 12. As an independent school accredited by SAIS, WCDS designs its own curriculum to emphasize deep understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of knowledge. Through intentional skill development, integrated STEAM learning, and meaningful academic support, students are prepared not only for college success, but for a lifetime of learning.
