Chemistry Teacher

Westchester Country Day School seeks a Chemistry Teacher for the 2020-21 academic year.

Responsibilities

  1. Teach multiple sections of Chemistry for tenth grade and eleventh grade students (enrollment is typically between 8 and 16 students per section).
  2. Teach one section of AP Chemistry for eleventh and twelfth grade students. (Training will be provided if the applicant does not have prior experience with the AP curriculum.)
  3. Serve as advisor to 10-12 Upper School students.
  4. Supervise a study hall period, while using the time for course preparation as needed.
  5. Serve as an advisor to extracurricular clubs or as an athletics coach.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  2. Classroom experience and experience mentoring students preferred.

Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 Teacher

Westchester Country Day School seeks a high school Spanish teacher for the 2020-21 academic year.

Middle and High School Academic Support Teacher

Westchester Country Day School, a PK-12 college preparatory school located in High Point, NC, is seeking a Middle and High School academic support specialist for the 2020-2021 academic year. The position includes teaching responsibilities as well as advisory and extracurricular responsibilities. Previous teaching experience and learning support is preferred. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to contribute to school activities. Coaching opportunities available. Director of Food Services

The Food Service Director is a ten-month staff member who follows the same calendar as the faculty. The Food Service Director reports to the Director of Finance. Principal duties include:

  • Staying current on Health Department regulations, keeping current ServSafe certification, and making sure the facility is in compliance.
  • Planning menu and developing recipes.
  • Publishing monthly menu and sending for posting on the website.
  • Working closely with school nurse and parents of students who have food allergies or special food requirements.
  • Ordering all food and arranging delivery in a timely manner and with minimal disruption to the school schedule.
  • Evaluating equipment needs for repair or purchasing new as needed.
  • Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating cafeteria staff.
  • Budgeting of department finances.
  • Preparing monthly payroll information.
  • Reconciling invoices and submitting to finance department for payment.
  • Working closely with architects or builders as new facilities are planned.
