Beat the Heat Evening Soccer
Adam Schwartz 5:30 – 8:30 Rising PK – 10th $125 There isn’t a more beautiful (or cooler) setting than Kennedy Field at dusk! One of the most popular camps of the summer, Beat the Heat Soccer Camp will certainly fill up early this year! This unique camp will be played “Under the Lights” and Coach Schwartz and his staff of current players and alums will be ready to show all the up and coming soccer stars what “Strength and Honor” really means. Finally, a soccer camp where you don’t have to put on sunscreen, but you will be playing with the “stars!”

Co-Ed Basketball Bonanza
Dagan Nelson 8:30 – 5:00 Rising 6th – 12th $225 This camp is designed to enhance overall basketball skills and knowledge. We will teach all campers the skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, team play, defense, and much more. We will have teaching stations and games every day. We look forward to seeing you on the court!
Drama Camp
Debby Noyes and Renee Hetley 8:30 – 1:00 Rising K – 3rd $160 Does your child like to perform in front of a video camera? Is it sometimes difficult to pull your child away from a mirror? How about the way your child tells a story, is it full of life with lots of expression and hand gestures? If you answered yes or no to any of these questions, this camp is just perfect for your child. During the week we will explore the world of drama in a variety of ways, such as use of body, facial expressions, voice, movement, and much, much more. Campers will develop skills to tell stories, perform skits, and pantomimes. The week will conclude with a celebration that invites parents and friends to share in the newly acquired skills.
Mad Science - Red Hot Robots
Mad Scientists 8:30 – 1:00 Rising 3rd – 6th $160 Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! Learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots. Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, swinging robots, and robots that can even play soccer! Meet Wrex the junkyard robot dog. Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. Use your skills to build your very own working robot - and take it home with you!

Jacquie Lowe 8:30 – 1:00 Rising K – 5th $160 Campers will engage in a variety of fun, cooperative, and competitive games, including Who Let the Dawgs Out, Jump the Monkey, Capture the Pin Soccer, Capture the Rings, Sharks and Minnows, Cookie Jar, Battleships, Bank Robbery, Water Balloon Toss, Slip & Slide, Super Soaker War, plus many more of your favorite games. If you enjoy FUN indoor and outdoor games, then this is the camp for you!
NC Adventure Camp
WCDS Faculty Members 8:30 – 5:00 Rising 3rd – 9th $275 Explore the wonders of North Carolina in this fun-filled adventurous week. We’ll travel every day to a new, exciting destination including the N.C. Whitewater Center in Charlotte, Richland Creek ZipLine in Asheboro, tubing down the Dan River, hiking/swimming at Hanging Rock State Park, and canoeing and kayaking trips. Purchased lunch is not an option for this camp; participants must pack a lunch every day.

Our college length floor and beautiful Finch Center will provide a fun and exciting atmosphere for all. Campers will learn a skill of the day and participate in competitive, fun, and rewarding games all under the tutelage of high school and college coaches. Come join us this summer as Wildcat Basketball prepares our future stars for future success on the hardwood!
Summer Celebrations
Sue Horney and Debbie Christiansen 8:30 – 1:00 Rising K – 2nd $160 From alligators to zebras, “Summer Celebration” campers will enjoy a variety of activities including arts and crafts, cooking fun, literature adventures, and science explorations. This potpourri of fun will surely make for an exciting week.
Baseball

This camp is designed to teach beginners and advanced players the skills of baseball. Campers will be instructed in proper hitting, fielding, and throwing techniques, as well as much more fun. Drama Production Camp
Debby Noyes and Ann Parks 8:30 – 5:00 Rising 3rd – 8th $225 Lights, camera, action! Campers will experience a fun filled week of acting, singing, and dancing to your favorite musical theatre songs. During the week you will also spend time creating costumes, props, and learning to apply stage make-up. At the end of the week, you will perform for your parents and friends during our final hour together. If you love performing, then this camp is tailor made for you!
Mad Science - Science Madness
Mad Scientists 8:30 – 1:00 Rising K – 4th $160 Are you a MAD SCIENTIST in the making? Move over Dexter and Jimmy Neutron, here we come! These are Mad Science’s coolest bits and pieces! We’re revvin’ up the lab to bring you our most fun experiments. WARNING…. This is so much fun you might forget you’re learning. It’s one of our favorites every year with fast paced, new experiments one after another. Our summer scientists’ heads are full of cool science; Bubbling Potions, Dinosaur Digs, Pet Clouds, Slime, Voice Modulators, 3D floating pig illusions, Cotton Candy, make your own soda and more! It’s a mad-mad-mad-mad world!

Cooking Camp
Dorotea Evans 8:30 – 1:00 Rising 3rd – 9th $160 Come join Mrs. Evans in the WCDS kitchen and learn how to prepare some of the students’ favorite foods. We will make super smoothies, marvelous muffins, creative cakes, wonderful wraps, super pizzas, and much more. This is a fun hands-on way to spend your afternoons, and chefs always get to be the first taste-testers!
Mad Science - Spy Camp
Mad Scientists 8:30 – 1:00 Rising K – 4th $160 James Bond? MacGyver? Austin Powers?!? Do you think you have what it takes to discover “who done it?” If so, this camp is for you. You sleuth out the answers and see if you have what it takes. Send mad messages, use codes to send secret transmissions to your friends. Discover the mystery of the Mad Science Message Wheel. Experiment with cool color-changing paper. Make your own invisible ink and other spy tools out of everyday stuff. Team up with fellow campers to solve the “mysteriously mysterious mystery.” Arrive at camp to find a real crime scene surrounded by crime scene tape. Learn fingerprinting and collect evidence to solve the crime. It is an enigma, surrounded by a puzzle wrapped in a conundrum.

Wildcat Fun Week
WCDS Faculty 8:30 – 1:00 p.m. Rising K – 6th $160 Every day is a new experience with activities ranging from cup stacking, arts and crafts, and tae kwon do to a visit from the Mad Scientists and the exotic animals of Zoofari. There will also be lots of Lego fun! This camp is perfect for those that like a wide range of fun!
Golf
Adam Schwartz 8:30 – 5:00 p.m. Rising 3rd – 12th $275 Bobby Jones once said, “No one will ever have golf under his thumb. No round ever will be so good it could not have been better. Perhaps this is why golf is the greatest of games. You are not playing a human adversary; you are playing a game. You are playing old man par.” This is the beauty about the Westchester Golf Academy- every day is a new day. Whether you are winning long drive and chipping contests or par three tournaments, dominating Frisbee Golf, or out-driving Phil Mickelson (still waiting for this one)…the WCDS golf camp lives up to the hype! Come play some of the best courses in the area with your best friends. We must have 10 campers to run this camp, so make sure you sign up early! Purchased lunch is not an option for this camp; participants must pack a lunch every day.

Odyssey of the Mind
Deb Tuggle 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Rising K – 8th $160 Join us for an “out of the box” week of creative problem-solving! Are you a builder, a writer, an actor, or an artist? Do you want to have fun while developing your creative talents? This camp is just the place to exercise your brain and creativity! Participants will solve spontaneous problems each day. These brain testers are really brain builders! Campers also participate in longer challenges to help develop independent thinking, creativity, technical skills, theatrical skills, and most importantly, team interaction skills. They will learn strategies that help them improve their brainstorming techniques and problem solving abilities as a group. Join camp as an individual or with Odyssey of the Mind teammates for a fun time developing your creative side!

Co-Ed Elite Basketball
Dagan Nelson 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Rising 7th – 12th $100 This camp is designed for the serious player who has aspirations of being a varsity player. This camp will be instructed by the Westchester basketball staff. We will put campers through a simulated varsity practice along with advanced skill development. Instructors have over 15 years of high school and college coaching experience. The environment will be intense, fun, and enthusiastic! Bring your game to what will be a very rewarding three nights of high level instruction!
