After-School Program

Students may stay after school until 6:00 p.m. every day for an additional fee. Students do not need to pre-register for this program and will be billed for their participation. Lower School students will play on the playground, eat a snack, and work on homework. Middle School students will work on homework in one of the computer labs. This service is $6/hour.

Study Hall

Westchester faculty will provide general academic support in the major subject areas. This is a great way to assist with completing homework and getting additional quality instruction. You will be able to make up days on which the school was closed.

Second Quarter Electives

Abstract Sculpture

Fridays - November 7, 14, 21, December 5, 12, January 9

Grades 3 - 5
Explore the world of sculpture in this 3D art class designed especially for young artists. Led by Theater Art Gallery staff, we will venture into the abstract world of Alexander Calder, Louise Nevelson, and Jean Arp to find inspiration for creating. Each artist will have the opportunity to create a wood sculpture and mobile using new and reclaimed materials. Register now for this exciting abstract adventure.

Gingerbread House Building

Friday December 12
1:45 - 2:30 p.m.
Grades 1-5
Upper School Art Club students will guide Lower School Wildcats in the construction of a gingerbread house just in time for the holidays! Registered students will be picked up in their classrooms and escorted to the Upper School art room. Children may be picked up in room 310 or delivered to the after-school program. Spaces are limited!

Mad Science

Fridays - November 7, 14, 21, December 5, 12, January 9

Grades K - 2
Each week participants in "Wild Science" will explore a different scientific theme including: Dry Ice Capades, Slime Time, Movie Effects, Stunt Planes & Gliders, Atmosphere and Beyond, and Living in Space. Many include take-home items.

Pre-K and K

All Around the Piano is a one-on-one exploration experience for the younger child. The 2-semester program is designed to discover your child’s interest in and readiness for traditional piano lessons. Games and activities include: patterning, keyboard awareness, rhythmic understanding, finger awareness, pre-reading, etc.
WunderKeys Piano Series
Students must have either a piano or a keyboard in the home.

1st graders and older

Faber & Faber and other Traditional Piano Series
Students MUST have a piano in the home for at-home practice.
