Fourth Quarter 2012-2013

The following after-school electives are available for the fourth quarter of the 2012-2013 academic year.

All programs will begin the week of April 8 and run through May 24. There will be no programs when WCDS is closed. Student participants will be picked up from the regular after-school program.

After-School Program

Students may stay after school until 6:00 p.m. every day for an additional fee. Students do not need to pre-register for this program and will be billed for their participation. Lower School students will play on the playground, eat a snack, and work on homework. Middle School students will work on homework in one of the computer labs. This service is $6/hour.

Study Hall

Westchester faculty will provide general academic support in the major subject areas. This is a great way to assist with completing homework and getting additional quality instruction. You will be able to make up days on which the school was closed.

American Girl

Create, laugh, imagine, dream. If your daughter loves American Girl dolls or any other doll, she will love this after-school camp loaded with fun-filled activities for her and her doll. Participants will bring their favorite doll and enjoy a time that is perfect for doll-loving girls! We will learn different hairstyles for the dolls, as well as make clothes, accessories, and jewelry to adorn them. Everyone will bring home numerous handmade items for their dolls.

Disc Golf

Head out for a round of disc golf at Johnson Street Park. We play a number of different formats such as individual score, captain’s choice, and best ball. A disc is included in the fee.

Garden Club

The weather is getting warmer, and you know what that means….it’s time to start planting those vegetables! Come out and join us as we plant our very own vegetable gardens. Students will learn how to plant, maintain, care, and grow their very own personal gardens here at school. We will register our gardens online and participate in weekly activities to monitor our gardens' growth. Students will be working outside as well as using technology to help foster their gardens. If you like to get your hands dirty and dig in the dirt, then this club is for you!

Lego Building

Come to this open format Lego building after-school program. Students will have the opportunity to make their own creations or build Legos from various sets.

Seasonal Arts and Crafts

Each week, we will work on creating seasonal masterpieces to take home and share with your family! We'll explore a variety of crafts for spring and summer! If you enjoy art and like to be creative, join us for some fun in the spring!
