2010-2011 Winner
Greg York, (’81) was the recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award. York served on the WCDS Board of Trustees from 1997 – 2005 and was the first alumnus to chair the board. He was Chair of Leadership Gifts of the Roots and Wings Capital Campaign from 2003-2008, and received the school’s Margaret Kemper Bonney Volunteer Service Award in 2005. He is a founding member of the Westchester Alumni Council and continues to serve on that board. As a student here, York was the recipient of the Bruce E. Hathaway Sportsmanship Award in 1980. He is also active in the community, serving on the Board of High Point Bank, High Point Regional Hospital, Boys and Girls Club of High Point, and the United Way of Greater High Point. He is an assistant coach with Piedmont Soccer Alliance and assistant scout master, Troop 4.
