Westchester's summer camps provide a wonderful, safe environment in which to hang out with old friends and make new ones in a positive, enriching atmosphere.

Fairies and Princesses

Dust off your fairy wings and polish your crowns and join us to celebrate magic and fantasy! No wings or crowns? No worries: we’ll create all the necessary garb needed to rule your kingdom in style! You’ll meet some new princesses, celebrate favorites and create a charming collection of fairy and princess memorabilia. Crafts, treats, games and songs are some of the gems you’ll discover in this provincial village!

Geocaching

Calling all treasure hunters! If you have ever dreamed of searching for buried treasure then this camp is for you! We use high tech GPS devices to search out hidden treasure chests called geocaches. Participants will learn all about topography, map reading and orienteering. In addition to several day adventures, you will also get to experience an overnight hunt in the mountains of NC. Bring your friends for the biggest adventure of the summer!

The Stage is the Thing

Check out our drama production, Check Under the Bed! Who knows what you’ll find? Maybe you’ll find a special talent for acting, designing, singing, or dancing — here’s your chance to do it all. The only mystery is what part you’ll enjoy the most, because it’s fun for everyone! Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Parks team up to teach all about theatre and at the end of the week produce a play that has it all, including… something… under the bed!

Art Camp

The theme of this year’s art camp is everybody’s favorite subject — FOOD! We’ll paint what we eat and eat what we paint. Our favorite foods will become pieces of sculpture, prints, and fabulous designs. Yum! Mrs. Weiss and Mrs. Parks hope you come hungry to create!

Chess Camp

Are you a Grandmaster? Come prove it against all of Westchester’s best chess players! Come learn the rules of chess, get your own copy of Chess software, and learn strategies that will get you to Grandmaster status. Mr. Barrier and Mr. Felten are waiting for you to take them down!

Surfin' Safari

Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Kids

Lego Land Camp

WCDS will be offering its first ever Lego camp. Join your friends and build Lego sets from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Space Police, or Indiana Jones. In addition to the sets campers will be able to make their own designs and help build a Lego City. Bring your imagination to Westchester Lego land!

Games Galore

Campers will engage in a variety of fun, cooperative, and competitive games, including Who Let the Dawgs Out, Jump the Monkey, Capture the Pin Soccer, Capture the Rings, Sharks and Minnows, Cookie Jar, Battleships, Bank Robbery, Water Balloon Toss, Slip ‘n Slide, Super Soaker War, plus many more of your favorite games. Wildcat Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Camp

Wildcat All-Sports Spectacular

Are you not sure which you love more: the speed of basketball, the touch of soccer, the strategy of football, the spirit of baseball, the agility of badminton, or the finesse of volleyball… well then, we’ve got the camp for you! This sports camp is geared for the true sports camper. Games, games, games… campers will compete for their team and will do so at the highest level! Westchester greats - past and present will be the coaches of the next great generation of Wildcat athletes! (Campers will vote on the games played during the 4 days)!

World Cup 2010 is coming to Westchester… you don’t have to go to South Africa! North Carolina Region Coach of the Year for the second straight year, Adam Schwartz, and his all-star staff are ready for one of the most popular soccer camps in the state. All age groups will develop and learn the technical skills of the world’s most popular sport while gaining a true passion for soccer. Shooting, dribbling, passing, heading, receiving, attacking, and defending are only a few of the skills these World Cup stars will bring home after a great day “shaking the net!” This camp is designed for rising stars of all ages and ability! Don’t forget that the world will be watching the future stars on beautiful Kennedy Field!
